Hello out there in blog land. I'm here with a release for Dutch Paper Crafts. First off , I love anything with an angel and I was fortunate in this release to come upon a die called One Free Wish. There was actually two dies that I used to make this card and they are DL216 One Free Wish and B178 Flourish Leaf Strip. I used glittered foil card stock with both dies, along with some silver glitter. The greeting on the outside of the card as well as the inside of the card was made with a stamp from Just Rite Clear stamps, along with the stamped flower on the inside. The stamp set is # CR-03705.I made my own envelope and used a gate center step card.
The next card I made was also a gate center step card. I used dies DL217 Pixie Gaurdian, B178 Flourish leaf strip, B176 Flourish Band. I also cut 2 large bunnies fromDL214 Spring Basket and then used a paper shaper hand held punch to make the baby bunnies in the bassinet. I used a Cherish Stamp on the outside of the card from Just Rite Stamps CR-03705. These dies and stamps can all be found on Dutch Paper Crafts. I also used a stampin up punch for side embellishments. There are plastic flower bling on the outside of the card, and the greeting on the inside was from stampin up.

The last card I made in this release was made using dies DL214 Spring Basket 1, DL214A Small Spring Basket Angel Wing, B175 Mini Fanciful Flourish, B180 Princess Tree used on the inside of the card. I also used a Magnolia stamp colored with prisma color pencils and gamisol liquid. I hand punched the silver dragonflies with a paper shaper hand held punch. The verse used on the inside of the card was a Magnolia verse stamp. The die is a spellbinder die which can be special ordered from Dutch Paper Crafts. All my flowers are hand made. All of the cards were very easy to cut using my Big Shot. All of the card stock used was from my stash.

Upon writing these posts I forgot to mention that I am on the Design Team for Dutch Paper Crafts. All these dies that I have posted can be found on Dutch Paper Crafts. You can click on the blinkie on my post and it will take you directly there. If you don't see the die that your looking for, simply click on email me and send the owner, Darlene, an email and tell her who you are and what you want and how to get in touch with you and I can assure you , that she will get back with you. On her blog she has some awesome videos for you to watch displaying different releases that the design team has made. She displays our cards or what ever we make along with the dies and tells a little about how the item was made and how to get in touch with the member who made the item in case you have any questions. I'm sorry I didn't post this sooner but blogging is still new to me and I'm kinda learning as I go.

Swirls- 4 Dies DC0099 and a Basic Envelope Set- 11 Dies DC0244
The next item I made was made using 2 sets of dies. I made a home made box out of chipboard, and covered it with DP. I then used good old duct tape to hinge the lid on. I then covered the rest of the box with DP.I made dividers for the inside of the box out of chipboard as well, then covered it with DP. I hot glued the dividers down to the bottom of the box and the sides of the dividers. I painted wooden knobs for the feet of the box. I used metal hinges just for decoration. I glued my ribbon down and placed a button on the ribbon center. I glued a wooden knob on the lid to tie the ribbon around. I also used metal corners just for decoration as well. I then hot glued lace around the box, that I bought at the Jule Box. The black flowered decoration was also made by Jules from the Jule Bob.I then used the swirl dies. I cut them out with kraft colored card stock in my Vagabond machine. I applied them to the top of the box and to the sides of the box. These swirls are just beautiful and can be used for many projects. I then took the envelope dies set and made most of the items to go inside of the box. I made cards, envelopes, little baby sized envelopes with note cards. These I would probable set on someones desk or pack a I Love You note for inside someones lunch. Or they can be used as a gift tag. I then cut some colored copy paper for stationary. I used some smaller pieces of the die set to make an envelope for postage stamps, combined with different small dies to make envelope seals and ran them thru my xyron machine.. I added an ink pen. I also made a small adress and phone number booklet. I covered a small memo pad with DP. Printed the sentiment on the computor and cut it  out with a small  die. I also made an assortment of cards to go with the set.I added a bottle of card scents  that you apply lightly to your cards, let dry and boy do your cards smell good.

Pop up box- 4 dies- DC0242

I used colored card stock 110 lb wt to make my 3 boxes. I used red, black and white. I ran the dies with paper thru my Big Shot machine using the extended platform with shims to cut these out. After cutting the red box and the white box, I folded on all the score marks and glued the side flap closed. You can use any adhesive of your choose. I folded them on the score marks on the side and placed them in my embossing folders and ran them thru my cuttlebug.  I made the black box the same way, only did not emboss it. They can be decorated to whatever theme you want. The red one I decorated for valentine's day or could be used for a birthday or anniversary. A ring box will fit on the inside of the box. The white heart goes thru a slot on top to hold it closed. I then decorated it with bling and pearls. I think the white one would look beautiful for a wedding for a favor box, or for a shower. The butterfly holds it shut on the top. I decorated the white box with white pearls and mint green beads. The black one could be used for graduation, or any occassion really. There is a pretty flower on the top holding the box closed. I then added pearls, lace, and tiny roses from I am roses. These were very easy and fast to make.

Disk Envelopes- a set of 5 dies, # DC0245
I used these dies to make disc envelopes on my Big Shot machine.I used the extended platform with several shims as I used colored copy paper for most of them, except a few that I embossed, I used white 120 lb wt cardsstock from Walmart. I also made some with my Vagabond to see if there was a difference and there really wasn't. After I cut them, I folded them on all score marks that the die makes, then used a bone folder to make sharp creases. These dies were very easy to make. Just remember to use shims. And since every ones machine is calabrated differently from the factory, I would experiment with the amont of shims you use. The shims I used was just scrap pieces of cardstock. After folding on the score marks, I glued them together with a fast drying tacky glue, but you could also use a tape runner, glue stick, just whatever glue you have on hand and feel comfortable using. There were a few that I embossed with folders by cutting them out first, gluing them together and then placed them in a embossing folder to fit the occasion, using the cuttlebug. The rest was just decorated to fit the occasion or you could leave them plain like the ones that you buy. Two of them was made with a center hole cut out and a piece of acetate was glued on the inside of the envelope. I then folded it on the score lines and glued them shut. These were very easy to make, and you could make quite a few in no time. You can decorate them if you wish for any occasion such as baby's first birthday, christmas, halloween, school programs, sport events, family trees, etc.

The next item s I made was a Jar of Jelly Beans . I used an adjustable belly band L-CC-015, along with a label cutting die DC0230. I first printed the sentiment using MW, than cut the label. I also made a Jar of Hershey Kisses. I used the same bands and printed the Easter Blessing with MW. I then cut it out with die DC0230.
Dutch Paper Crafts Continue
The next item I made was a box of cards. I made a plain box with cardstock and covered it with designer paper. I made cards to place in the box. I used a tile belly band #DC0124 with an adjustable belly band strap # L-CC-015.

Creations for Dutch Paper Crafts
First I made a booklet for Darlene's Dad. I used die #DC0100. It is called Frames and includes 3 cutting dies.I cut 4 pieces of thin cardboard from a box of cereal. I then cut all the designer paper with the same die. I punched 2 holes on one side and tied it with ribbon. Then I made a frame, 2 pieces and sandwiched a piece of aceatate between them. I glued it all together and left it open on the top to insert a picture of his best friend. On the other side, I used metal alphabet brads to spell out his name, then used military stickers. I then printed a 12 month calendar and used brads to attach it. I placed designer paper on the back to cover the brad posts.
The next item I made was a favor box, which could be used for a wedding or a shower. I used a floral belly band insert #DC0123 which comes with 2 dies.I also used an adjustable belly band, #L-CC-015 which comes with 4 bands. I made s simple box and cut my Initial out on my cricut.

Happy Saint Pattricks Day

Hi fella bloggers. Are you wearing your green today? I started my day with scrambled eggs with creamed spinach. It was soooooooooo good. Yes I'm Irish. I'm in the middle of taking a class (break time) at My Creative Classroom. I love that place. The class I'm taking is using my cricut. Yes I wiped off the dust and starred it down and whispered you will not get the best of me. I'm always so intimidated by it. Am I the only one? I love that thing now that I'm using her. And I'm only using scraps, which we all have plenty of. So that is how my day is going. I did manage to wash 2 loads of laundry so hubby wouldn't stop at my door and go Grrrr. But I must say, my DH went out on his own and bought me 2 cartridges that I needed for the class. I told him I could make due with what I had with my bottom lip hanging down to the floor. Don't say nothing, I'm sure you've all done it. Well gals break is over, time to go back to the classroom. Blessings, Carol

Sarah's book

My pictures went to computer heaven so I need to try this again. I will learn it.

Valentine Book for Sarah

Hi friends, wow here I am, 2 days in a row. I just got finished the final touches for my niece's valentine book and wanted to share some pictures with you. I hope everyone out there is having a wonderful day. In Our neck of the woods we are all praying for all those tornado victims so hit so close to home. God was definitely watching over them that day, as it could have been so much worse. My heart goes out to them. Well here are my pictures of Sarah's book and like I had said previously , I only used two full sheets of paper and the rest was all scraps and things I already had on hand. It's amazing what you can do when you decide not to spend the money and don't. On New Years Day that was put on my bucket list to get better with the spending as I really and truly do not need the stuff I buy so freely. This book I made was designed by Kathy Orta, who is an amazing designer. She has a site called Paper Phenomenon . I think thats how she spells it. I love her site and yes I'm a pita babe. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed making Sara's book. Blessings, Carol.

I Am Done Cleaning

Hi ya all. Last time I was here I said I was gonna get my room cleaned and get rid of what I don't use, and use what I got. And I've been doing just that. I made a smash book for a friends daughter, and I made a cloth dress form and a card. All made from right you guessed it, scraps. I just completed a valentines day book for my niece, whose birthday was on valentines day, just a tad late, but all I used was 2 new sheets of paper and scraps. Sometimes I think if I never bought another piece of paper, I could get by on just my scraps. I took some pictures of what I made and when I figure out how to get them on here I will do just that. I also want to make a video of my scrapbook room. I call it Purgatory. It is my sanctuary. Well I figured out how to put the pictures here but I don't know how to rotate the last two pictures which is my dress form I made and the birthday card I made for my granddaughter who turned 7 on Feb 26th. As you know the computer is not my best friend. I really don't know all the ins and outs of it, but I'm learning. The first several pictures I posted was the smash book I made for a beautiful girl named Anna as you can tell I added her name to the book. I hope shes enjoying it just as much as I enjoyed making it. Well friends I will say goodby for now, but I will be back. Blessings, Carol

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hi friends, I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I have not been on my blog since April of 2011. One of my Near Year resolutions is to add something weekly. I need to keep up with my friends more, start making videos again. I have made a ton of stuff and I shamefully admit I didn't video one of any project I made. I know we all make resolutions and don't keep them, but we are barely into the New Year and I've already gone thru so many changes in my life. I won't bore you with the details, but I promise to try and do better. My room is still not clean, well it was halfway cleaned until before Christmas, and from where I crafted so many gifts, it looks like a tornado has came thru. I did promise myself I was going to cut back on my spending as there was not one thing I needed except for some tape for my ATG gun. I went ahead and bought 6 rolls so I should be good for awhile. I have started organizing my room and I will get it wear it needs to be before to much longer, especially with me not bringing in any more products. I am going to start making some smash books home made just to use up all my scraps, which I have a ton of. I will not even cut one sheet of paper. I have tons of CB cut in various sizes and shapes and I will make them do. I have no idea what I will do with all the books I make, but they will go to good use. I've thought about boxing them up and giving them to the VFW to mail overseas to any of the soldiers male/female who may want them to use as a journal. I will keep you posted on that. So for now I will close and will be back within a week to say hello again and to keep you posted on my cleaning and on the books I'm making. Blessings and love, Carol
